Eravamo solo in sei.

Predefinito TIA records further impressive growth during 2010

In 2010, Tirana International Airport (TIA) served 1,536,822 passengers, recording further impressive growth for the company. The Airport also recorded 20,768 air traffic movements (ATMs) and handled 1,785 tons of cargo. In comparison with the previous year, passenger numbers increased by 10.2 per cent, ATMs by 3.5 per cent and cargo by 4.4 per cent. Tirana International Airport witnessed further sustainable growth last year including in cargo handling, all strong testimony to the stable economy of both the company and the country. TIA Cargo Export is currently the only accredited IATA member in Albania. With twenty-four hour operations each and every day our experienced, trained and well-oriented staff is the answer to all cargo market demands,” said Mr. Rolf Castro-Vasquez, TIA Chief Operations Officer.
With last month’s liberalization of visas for Albanians still more passengers are expected to use the Airport. In order to maintain its consistent high standards and high levels of customer satisfaction, TIA will be working hard to provide its top level of efficiency to cope with the expected growth in numbers, offering all passengers the full safety and security that they deserve.
Last year, the airlines carrying most passengers to and from Tirana were Belleair (43.9%), Alitalia (10.6%), Albanian Airlines (7.4%), Austrian Airlines (5.7%) and Turkish Airlines (4.9%). Currently, twelve airlines fly in to and out of TIA, connecting directly the Albanian capital city with 30 destinations, including the new carrier BelleAir Europe. The decision of the airlines operating at TIA to expand their number of routes is based on the Airport’s remarkable passenger growth recorded over the last couple of years.
TIA is committed to offering its passengers, airlines and business customers the best. Every day the Airport works to offer a better service, and it constantly maintains a safe, secure environment for its customers. The company offers a high standard working environment for all airlines operating on its premises.

Non ce spazio secondo me per una vera lowcost su Bari. Il traffico permete si o no un ATR42 e basta. Andava benissimo al epoca il Yak40 del ADA. A volte 2xdaily.

Thumbs up records 23 per cent growth for first six months of 2011

Airport now serving more passengers than ever before
Cargo figures increase by 17 per cent and ATMs by 11 per cent
Tirana International Airport (TIA) had an excellent performance for the first six months of 2011. Passenger numbers increased by 23 per cent, air traffic movements (ATMs) by 10.6 per cent, and cargo by 17.7 per cent, in comparison with the same period last year. Between January and the end of June, TIA served 793,984 passengers, an outstanding figure that highlights the high standards of service offered by the Airport. TIA also recorded 10,352 ATMs and handled 1,084 tons of cargo. This year has come with really important developments for the Airport, which is one of the most important gates to Tirana and for the country as a whole. Visa liberalization has brought noticeable change to our company: there is significant growth in domestic demand, which has brought with it better and extended services offered by the airlines, said Mr Rolf Castro-Vasquez, Chief Operation Officer of TIA.
The airlines carrying most passengers to and from Tirana are Belleair (46.2%), Alitalia (9.6%), Albanian Airlines (9.1%), Austrian Airlines (6.1%) and Turkish Airlines (4.2%). Currently, fourteen airlines fly in to and out of TIA, connecting directly the Albanian capital city with 35 destinations, including Brussels, Barcelona and Paris, inaugurated this year for the summer season.
The Airport has become more and more attractive to airlines whose decision to approach TIA is based on its remarkable passenger growth recorded over the last couple of years. In June, TIA welcomed Jetair, a well known low-cost airline, which operates between TIA and Brussels with a twice weekly service.

Thumbs up reveals plans for 2012

Tirana International Airport gives the best wishes for a prosperous 2012 to its passengers and express its gratitude to everyone that used the Airport during 2011, to everyone who helped the Airport grow and to all the staff and partners that made it possible.

2011 was truly generous to the Airport, which experienced a huge increase in passenger numbers of 18 percent, that is to say over 1.8 million, while ATMs (Aircraft Traffic Movements) and cargo also had a very positive increase said Mr. Rolf Castro-Vasquez, Chief Operations Officer of Tirana International Airport. Moreover, the new year is coming with more good news for TIA's passengers. The company managing the Airport is planning a new extension. Planning for Phase C, another large project at the Airport, will start in 2012 and, in the following year, TIA will begin the construction of an upgrated and extended terminal. The new project that will cost more than seven million Euros will be focused on the Arrivals Area and the Departure Gates, aiming to meet the passengers satisfactions and comfort. The Airport is constantly adapting to the demands of its passengers and other customers, including its client airlines. One of our main goals is to maintain our standards at the level at which we are already operating, especially during peak hours, whether in the morning or during the afternoon, while another goal is to reach new destinations. Through incentive policies the company will try to enrich its portfolio targeting with direct flights to French, Netherlands, and Scandinavian market said Mr Castro-Vasquez. Furthermore, backpackers are to a destination country and to an airport like swallows to the spring, and TIA has seen them come. This change shows that TIA is attaining a worldwide awareness. We will keep our standards high, and work hard on quality control. Each passenger, each airline, everyone traveling to and from TIA, will be served at our best said Mr. Castro-Vasquez.

Tirana International Airport experienced moderation in passenger numbers in 2012
TIA passenger figures down by 8.4 percent
Officials state that the decrease in numbers is due to the global financial crisis
Passenger numbers at Tirana International Airport (TIA) fell by 8.4 percent in 2012. This is the first annual decline in passenger traffic recorded at the airport as the euro zone crisis hit air travel and businesses, airport officials said. Last year, 1,665,331 passengers flew from TIA compared to 1,817,073 passengers in 2011.
Meanwhile, Air Traffic Movements (ATMs) were down 10.7 percent compared to 2011, while cargo demand, a monitored indicator of the health of the economy, fell by 14.9 percent.
It must be emphasized that 2011 was an exceptional year, due mainly to the boost in passenger figures following the visa liberalization, and we were well aware that such growth would not have been repeated in 2012, said Ms Andrea Gebbeken, TIA Chief Executive Officer. Compared to 2010 - the year before the visa liberalization took effect - we have seen a growth of 8 percent, she added.
In 2012, the airlines carrying most passengers to and from Tirana were Belle Air (50.1%), Alitalia (9.6%), Air One (9.6%), Austrian Airlines (8.1%) and Turkish Airlines (5.5%). Currently, twelve airlines fly in to and out of TIA, connecting the Albanian capital directly with 32 destinations. The most frequented ones as final destination or transfer points were Rome, Milan, Vienna, London and Pisa.
Despite the moderation in passenger numbers, we remain positive about the Airports achievements so far and those yet to come. We are engaged in securing the highest standards for our passengers and a healthy environment for all those who fly through our airport and all those who live nearby, Ms Gebbeken said.

Thumbs up Tirana International Airport experienced positive growth in passenger numbers in 2013

TIA passenger figures up 5.5 percent

Officials state that 2014 will see further positive growth

Passenger numbers at Tirana International Airport (TIA) rose by 5.5 percent in 2013. Despite the bankruptcy of the main local carrier BelleAir, officials said that last year recorded positive numbers for passengers traveling through the airport, and that the current year is following this trend. The figures are not so striking in terms of Aircraft Traffic Movements (ATM), which were down 2.9 percent on 2012, and cargo statistics, which fell by 4.2 percent.

In 2013, the airlines carrying most passengers to and from Tirana were Belle Air (46.7%), Air One (10.9%), Alitalia (9.0%), Austrian Airlines (8.2%) and Turkish Airlines (6.9%). Currently, 13 airlines fly in to and out of TIA, connecting the Albanian capital directly with 20 destinations.

After the collapse of BelleAir, three airlines have been added to the list of carriers operating at the AirportBlue Panorama, Livingston and Meridiana Airlinesall of which have their main destinations in Italy.

Meanwhile, on Tuesday 2nd of April, a new direct route will be launched by Adria Airways, this time from Tirana to Frankfurt. The route is scheduled for throughout the year, with four return flights a week.
